Why Use OR Logic in Search?
Using OR logic in Search enables users to run multiple searches simultaneously, to help ensure that users are capturing all relevant results.
How do I use OR logic in Search?
1. In the Discovery App, add Search Terms to the Search Bar. In this example, we will use "breaking news":
2. Click the Search Bar again to add additional Search Terms. In this case, we will use "traffic report":
3. The operator placed in between search pills will be set to AND by default. Click on “AND” and select “OR” to update your query. If desired, click the “x” for each pill to remove it from the Search Bar.
This will adjust your Search Results to include mentions where EITHER "breaking news" OR "traffic report" are said:
- If desired, users may also place a comma in between Search Terms to designate the OR operator, rather than using the Pill tool.
